New Delhi: If your salary is less than 21000 rupees and your company has got you registered in ESIC, then there is good news for you. The central government has taken an important decision for ESIC beneficiaries. If there is no ESIC hospital within 10 km radius of the Employee State Insurance Health Insurance Scheme (ESIC) beneficiary's home, then he can go for treatment in private hospitals empanelled by the Employees State Insurance Corporation.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Labor, the number of beneficiaries has increased on a large scale as a result of expanding the ESIC scheme to new areas as well. The continuous efforts are being made to expand and strengthen the infrastructure with the aim of providing medical facilities to ESIC members in their own vicinity. The statement said, "At present, ESIC beneficiaries are facing difficulties in getting the medical facility in some areas due to ESIC's hospital or dispensary or insured medical practitioner (IMP) not being within 10 km radius."

According to the statement, ESIC beneficiaries in such areas are now provided with the option of availing health care facilities in ESIC empanelled hospitals in the country. For this, the beneficiary will not need to get approval from any ESIC hospital or dispensary.
