New Delhi: A number of misleading posts are being shared on social media about corona infections spread across the country. Meanwhile, the government has asked social media companies to immediately remove any content from their platform that uses or refers to the term 'Indian variant' of the coronary virus. So that fake news related to COVID-19 can be curbed. 

According to sources, the IT Ministry has written to all social media platforms saying that the World Health Organization (WHO) has not linked the word 'Indian variant' with the B.1.617 variant of corona virus in any of its reports. According to reports, a notice in this regard has been issued by the IT Ministry on Friday stating that false statements are being shared on social media. According to which, an 'Indian variant' of coronavirus is spreading to all countries.

The matter has already been clarified through a press release issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on May 12. He said social media platforms have been asked to immediately remove all content from their platforms that name, reference or meaning the 'Indian variant' of the coronary virus from your platform.
