New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi last Sunday talked about using indigenous goods in his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat programme. Meanwhile, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari today launched khadi shoes. These new initiatives have been launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) to promote khadi industry.
Khadi cloth, masks and other products are being celebrated in large parts of the country. Meanwhile, khadi shoes have also come to the market during the festive season, which will be available for both men and women. Launching khadi shoes on Monday, Nitin Gadkari said he hoped that people would like them and once again people would push the khadi industry forward. PM Narendra Modi has urged people to buy local goods this season of the festival.
Even in the radio work Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi had said that Khadi is now making a recognition in the world and it has become a fashion statement. Pm Modi had praised the Khadi mask in the meantime and explained how sales at Delhi's Khadi India store have started growing. The PM had also mentioned mexico, where khadi is being produced in some villages and khadi products are becoming popular.
