New Delhi: The Central government says several major steps have been taken to boost the country's economy. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri have elaborated on the current situation in the economy during a press conference on Friday.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has said that even after the Covid-19 epidemic, the FDI in the country has increased. In 2020-21, the country received a total FDI of $81.72 billion (Rs. 6,108.09 billion), while the country received an FDI of $6.24 billion (Rs. 466.40 billion) in the first month of the current fiscal. This is 38 percent higher than the FDI in April 2020. Piyush Goyal said that with the growth of the country's economy in the April-June quarter, exports have also increased.

He said the country has recorded the highest ever exports during this period. This is a big record despite the second wave of the corona. He said the country's exports during this period stood at $95 billion. The country has never exported so much in a quarter before. Out of 30 commodity groups exported from the country, 10 categories have seen major growth. The performance of rice, engineering goods has been fantastic.
