New Delhi: Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar has said that the project dolphin will be prepared for the conservation of dolphins and it will be formally launched within 15 days. On the occasion of Independence Day, PM Narendra Modi announced the project dolphin in the name of the nation from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort.
Under this, efforts will be made to increase the number of dolphins living in rivers and seas. Where dolphins are found, this project will be carried out with the help of fishermen and local people dependent on rivers and seas. In a virtual meeting with the secretaries and senior officials of the states and union territories about forest and environment, Javadekar said that there are 3000 dolphins in our rivers.
He said that dolphins are also found in the seas along the shores of 12 states. In 15 days, the project will be inaugurated by preparing the project dolphin. Union Minister Javadekar said that the 'Project Lion' started for the conservation of lions in Gujarat will now be extended to the entire country. The Prime Minister also announced this on 15 August.
