Centre assures help to contain Dzukou Valley wildfire: Manipur CM

A wildfire that is currently raging in the Dzukou Valley along the Manipur-Nagaland border. The Central government has assured Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh of all necessary assistance to contain the wildfire.

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Friday in a tweet said that Union home minister Amit Shah has assured all necessary assistance from the Central government to contain the wildlife. The tweet reads, “Just received a call from Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji to assess and discuss the situation about the wildfire at Dzuko valley. Amit Shah Ji has assured all the necessary assistance from the Home Ministry to contain the situation at earliest."
Chief minister Biren on Thursday conducted an aerial survey to take stock of the situation arising out of the wildfire. The state Government has also requested the National Disaster Response Force to provide assistance in containing the situation and urged the Army and the Assam Rifles to assist firefighters in containing the fire.

The Dzukou Valley, a popular trekking destination located along the border of Nagaland and Manipur, is known for its lilies and biodiversity. The wildfire broke out in Dzukou valley, a tourist hotspot in Nagaland, on Tuesday afternoon.
