Ranchi: Political tensions have been escalating in Jharkhand recently, following Champai Soren's abrupt departure from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). This move has sparked considerable speculation, though the JMM has not yet issued an official response. In contrast, Congress leader and Hemant Soren's cabinet minister, Banna Gupta, has criticized Champai Soren as being power-hungry and a traitor.
Champai Soren has now clarified that, despite the mistreatment he has faced, he does not intend to dismantle the JMM or poach its leaders, MLAs, or ministers. He indicated that within a week, he will reveal his future plans and the direction he intends to take. On Friday, upon his arrival in Gamharia, he received a warm reception from supporters, including many women who came to greet him. During a meeting at a hotel on the Tata-Kandra main road, Champai Soren was encouraged by workers who pledged their support. He expressed his gratitude for their backing and confirmed that he is actively seeking a new political partner and exploring the formation of a new organization. He assured that his actions will not involve breaking up his former party or taking any of its members with him.
Champai Soren emphasized that he is not retiring from politics and will continue to seek allies who advocate for the rights of tribals and Dalits. Reflecting on his past efforts, he reiterated his commitment to fighting for workers' rights and announced his decision to establish a new political party after consultations and discussions following his return from Kolkata.
