Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren has promised 2.87 lakh jobs and self-employment opportunities for 5 lakh people if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the upcoming state elections. In an open letter to the youth of Jharkhand, Soren emphasized the importance of their role in shaping the future of the state, which is just 24 years old.

Soren assured that the process of 2.87 lakh job appointments would begin immediately after the BJP forms the government. In addition to job creation, he promised to offer self-employment opportunities to those who have not yet benefited from employment schemes. He urged first-time voters to support the BJP and strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

Reflecting on his four-and-a-half-decade political career, Soren said he has always focused on the overall development of society. He highlighted the challenges faced by the youth, stating that many are eager to contribute to their families, society, and the nation but are held back by systemic obstacles. He also pointed out that during his tenure as Chief Minister, initiatives were launched to build several educational institutions, including degree colleges and polytechnic institutes.

Soren criticized efforts to halt the recruitment process he initiated during his brief five-month term as Chief Minister. He assured that if the BJP returns to power, they will bring about systemic changes aimed at transparency, ensuring that recruitment processes are free from corruption and only deserving candidates are selected.

He called on the people of Jharkhand to work together to build a "new Jharkhand," focused on improving the living standards of all citizens.

Champai Soren served as the 12th Chief Minister of Jharkhand, taking office on February 2, following the resignation of his predecessor Hemant Soren, who was arrested on charges of money laundering. Hemant Soren was released on bail and later re-elected as the leader of the JMM's legislature party, leading Champai Soren to step down and clear the way for his return as Chief Minister for a third term.

The elections for Jharkhand’s 81-seat assembly are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 13 and 20.
