Barcelona beat Borussia Dartmond 3–1 in Group F thanks to goals from star footballer Leonel Messi, Louis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann. Following this win, Barcelona ensured a place in the Champions League knockout stage, while RB Leppzig managed to make it to the final 16 for the first time. Messi's 700th match for Barcelona. Messi has scored 613 goals for the Spanish club so far. At the moment, Barcelona top their Group F with 11 points in the Champions League. Barcelona striker Lionel Messi became the first player in the world to score goals against 34 different teams in the Champions League. Prior to Messi, Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo and Spain's Raul scored goals against 33 teams.

Argentina's Messi helped Suarez and Griezmann score goals in addition to scoring a goal. The win put Barcelona on 11 points and moved on to the lead. Inter Milan and Germany's Dartmond, who won 3–1 over Slavia Praha, have seven points.

Suarez opened the goal in the 29th minute after which Messi scored the 613th goal for Barcelona in their 700th match in the 33rd minute. Griezmann scored the third goal for the team in the 67th minute. Jadon Sancho's goal in the 77th minute for Dartmond narrowed the margin of defeat. In Group G, RB Leipzig and Benfica played a 2–2 draw. Leipzig thus secured a place in the final 16 by 10 points.

Barcelona defeated Borussia Dortmund 3–1 in a Champions League match. The first goal of the match was scored by Luis Suarez of Barcelona in the 29th minute. Messi then scored in the 33rd minute and Antino Griezmann scored in the 67th minute. The only goal for Dortmund was scored by Jadon Sancho in the 77th minute.
