Lucknow: Just before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the tussle between Samajwadi Party (SP) president and former CM Akhilesh Yadav and Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar has come to the fore. Chandrashekhar has said that if I am scared today, no youth will be able to dare tomorrow. All these leaders are power-hungry, we have been cheated and we will not be able to understand politics. People must be laughing that they fooled Chandrashekhar, but our goal was social change, not power.
He said lakhs of activists of Azad Samaj Party and BHIM Army have played the role of opposition. On the question of alliance with Congress, Chandrashekhar said he can take a shocking decision by evening. Chandrashekhar released the first list of Azad Samaj Party nominees and said he would also contest against CM Yogi from Gorakhpur if the party said so. Chandrashekhar Azad levelled serious allegations against Akhilesh Yadav.
He said that earlier he was promised 25 seats. Chandrashekhar said that he was offered the post of MLA and minister, which he turned down. Chandrashekhar said that even if SP gives him 100 seats, he will not forge an alliance with them now. Chandrashekhar said that he will help the parties even after the elections to stop the BJP. He told that his party had also tried for an alliance with BSP supremo Mayawati, but no response came from there.
