The student was supposed to visit his girlfriend and that led him to fabricate a false story of his abduction. The incident is said to be from Gohad town in Bhind district. Surendra, who lives here, reached Gohad police station on November 6 and filed a report that 'my son Sandeep (18) has left home without informing him.' On the complaint of the father, the police registered a missing person in the case and launched a search. Then on the 8th, Surendra again approached the police and said, 'My son's phone came to me. The caller has kidnapped my son. He is demanding a ransom of 2.5 lakh rupees.' On hearing this, the Gohad police station was activated and the police immediately asked the student's phone number to find the location of the mobile with the help of a cyber cell.

The location of the student's mobile then came to Gwalior and police sent a team to Gwalior. The student was nabbed by the police along with his mobile from the spot with the help of a cyber cell here. Then, when the police questioned the student Sandeep, he told everything the truth after a long period of strictures. He said he did all the homework first to extort money from his father to meet his girlfriend. He then disappeared to show himself kidnapped. He had downloaded an app on his mobile and was changing his voice from the same and demanding a ransom from his father. He also revealed that the student needed money to keep his girlfriend happy and meet her so he did so.
