1. Saat Khoon Maaf:-

A film that sends shivers with the way Priyanka Chopra performed. Irrfan Khan plays one of Sussama's seven husbands, who ill treats and abuses her in the bedroom. Ultimately, she kills him.

2. Daman:-

Raveena Tandon has been doing socially relevant movies and in Daman too, she raised the issue that shocked audiences. For her role, she took home a National Award.

3. Agni sakshi:-

Manisha Koirala plays a beaten wife who tries to escape her marriage and ends up with a psychopath. Her sexually abusive husband finds out and tortures her till the time she files a case against him. Truly intense.

4. Videsh:-

Preity Zinta was the main lead in Deepa Mehta's brilliant Videsh. Taking on the issue of atrocities faced by Indian brides sent outside the country, this movie will leave you shocked.

5. Provoked:-

Based on the book of the same name, Provoked is a story about a woman who enters a happy marriage, is abused and confined before she ultimately takes revenge and kills him. Aishwarya Rai was completely brilliant in this.

6. Parched:-

A movie that highlights the social evils faced by women in a society. Parched descripted the way women spoke up, fighting the age old traditions.
