Chemban Vinod Jose, who is spoken of as one of the most brilliant Malayalam actors, is joining the sets of Rajinikanth's film Darbar. The actor is playing one of the antagonists in the film. Jose made his Tamil debut in 'Goli Soda 2' directed by Vijay Milton in which also he played a terror-striking villain. Meanwhile, superstar Rajinikanth will be seen donning the cop avatar after a gap of 25 years. The film also stars Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas and others amongst others.

Apart from Darbar, the Malayalam Actor will be also seen next in Aashiq Abu's Virus, Lijo Jose Pellissery's Jallikattu, and Joshiy's Porinju Mariam Jose. Chemban made his writing debut with the critically acclaimed Angamaly Diaries.
Darbar will hit the theatres on Pongal 2020. Darbar is the 167th film of Rajinikanth and might also be the last film of the actor, who might take the political plunge after this. The makers of the film had earlier released the first look poster of the film which features Rajinikanth against the backdrop of guns, uniform, other police related things. The film bankrolled by Lyca Productions has become the talking point now. While Santosh Sivan will handle the cinematography for the film, Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music.
