NEW DELHI: India's chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma put up his resignation after controversy over his alleged outburst during a sting operation by a television news channel. The Ex-pacer of India came under fire on February 14 after he allegedly revealed classified selection matters during a sting operation, conducted by Zee News.
Chetan Sharma was seen allegedly revealing his internal discussions with head coach Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli, along with casting a number of allegations against some senior players in the team. He alleged that there was an ego crash between former captain Virat Kohli and the former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.
Chetan was reinstated during the sting operation casting doubt on players like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. Chetan was recently restored by the Board of Control for Cricket in India after being suspended following India's disappointing performance in the T20 World Cup in Australia.
He also allegedly shared details of his private conversations with Virat Kohli and head coach Rahul Dravid. He claimed that despite being just 80% to 85% healthy, many players take injections to hasten their return to competitive cricket.
Moreover, Chetan asserted that former captain Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly engaged in an ego clash.
