Patna: Mahaparva Chhath of public, which lasts for 4 days, has started with Nahay-Khay on Thursday. This festival, which is worshiped by the Sun God for the next 4 days, is mainly celebrated with great pomp in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. However, now this festival has become very popular in all parts of the country and the people there celebrate this festival with enthusiasm.

This mahaparva has started from today with Nahai-Khay. Kharna will be organized tomorrow on the second day of this festival. On the third day of Mahaparva, devotees will offer Arghya to the setting sun and then on the last day of this festival people will offer Arghya to the rising Sun, after which this Mahaparva will end. In this sequence, Pappu Yadav, founder and former MP of Jan Adhikar Party, distributed Chhath Puja material among the fasting women in Patna today.

Pappu Yadav himself distributed the worship material used in this puja like coconut, soup and other things among the devotees. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has also given his best wishes to the countrymen and people of Bihar for this festival. In his message, Nitish Kumar said that this mahaparva of public faith is a festival of self-discipline in which people offer arghya to the astral and emerging Lord Surya with spiritual purification and serene mind.
