On the 29th death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi, the Government of Chhattisgarh has started a new scheme for farmers in his name. Its name is Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana. The interim president of Congress, Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel started it. Sonia Gandhi participated in the program through video conferencing. She said that the whole party is happy with the launch of the justice scheme.

Congress Party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala also said at the beginning of the scheme that the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana has been started under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. He further said that through the scheme, the farmers who grow millions of sugarcane and maize will directly get Rs 7500. Starting EICE today, Rs 1,500 crore will be given as the first installment.

In his statement, the Chief Minister of the state Bhupesh Baghel said that under this scheme, the first installment of Rs 1500 crore will be given to 18 lakh 34 thousand 834 farmers for paddy crop. On giving information, he said that this scheme will benefit nine lakh 53 thousand 706 marginal farmers, three lakh 20 thousand 844 big farmers and five lakh 60 thousand 284 small farmers.
