Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel appeals to PM Modi regarding the corona vaccine

New Delhi: Chhattisgarh CM and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel have urged PM Modi to provide vaccines to states only at the rate of corona vaccine received by the Central government. He said this will reduce the financial burden on states. CM Baghel has also urged the state to appraise the state of the schedule for the supply of vaccine from the central government for vaccination of health workers, frontline workers, and people above the age of 45 years.

So that an action plan for vaccination of all eligible people in the state can be prepared. Baghel made the request at a virtual review meeting of corona control arrangements and immunization progress with chief ministers of various states led by PM Modi today. Health Minister TS Singhdev, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, and Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain were also present in the meeting. CM Baghel told PM Modi at the meeting that the way oxygen-producing states are providing additional oxygen after their requirement to other states on priority.

Baghel said that similarly, states producing redmesivir and other life-saving medicines should be provided to other states on priority. Guidelines for this should be issued by the Government of India. He also urged PM Modi to allow production and use of industrial oxygen in view of a large number of steel industries in Chhattisgarh so that the economy is not adversely affected and thousands of families belonging to these industries do not face employment crises.
