A CRPF jawan has committed suicide by shooting himself with an AK-47 rifle in Chhattisgarh's Gariaband town. The jawan lost his life on the spot. Police said on Thursday that Uday Veer Singh, posted as ASI in 65th Battalion, was found lying in a pool of blood on Wednesday evening.

However, the reason for the suicide has not been revealed yet. The deceased jawan was a resident of Etah in UP and was posted in the 65th battalion of the CRPF camp in Darripara village. Riyaband Additional Superintendent of Police Chandresh Singh Thakur has said that Singh's accomplices reached the spot after hearing the sound of firing. Officials said he was taken to a local hospital where he was declared brought dead.
