Raipur: Before the by-elections, security forces have got a big success in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. According to the information received, the security forces have piled up two prize money Naxalites worth 5-5 lakh in Kirandul area of Dantewada. The encounter between security forces and Naxalites took place in the Kutterm jungle of Kirandul, where two security Naxals have been killed by security forces who went on a search operation.

Confirming the encounter, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava said that two prized Naxalites of five lakh each have been killed. However, earlier he had spoken about the killing of two Naxalites of one lakh each, but after getting the information, he said that both the Naxalites killed in the encounter had a prize of five lakhs each. Among the slain Naxalites is the member of Malangir Committee, Lachhu Mandavi and his colleague Gumiyapal's commander, Commander Podia.

In the search operation that started after the encounter, a native pistol and a 12 bore gun were found from the bodies of both the Naxalites. Kirandul Police and DRG have got this big success in a joint operation. A few days ago the police had received information that a large number of Naxalites are hiding in the jungle of Kutarem and are preparing to carry out a major crime. After which the Naxals attacked the security forces on seeing the team that went on the campaign, after which the security forces killed two Naxals in retaliation.
