Jagdalpur: Security forces have piled 4 Naxalites in an encounter in the Sukma district of the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh. These include two uniformed Naxalites. Bodies with weapons have also been recovered in the forest of Poolanpad from the encounter site. The encounter has been confirmed by Bastar IG P. Sundararaj.

According to police, more than 50 Naxalites were reported to be hiding in the Chintalnar area of Sukma, sending CRPF 223 battalion and DRG personnel from Jagargunda police station and Cobra 201 battalion personnel from Narasapuram camp. On Wednesday morning, when the security forces reached the pool of Poonanpad between Chintalnar and Jagargunda, the firing started by the Naxalites. Firing continued for almost two hours Naxalites escaped from the scene after seeing security forces fall heavily

When the security forces searched the spot, the bodies of four Naxalites were found. Two of them were in uniform, while Dogramina was in costumes. The jawans have also recovered 3 glitter guns and a 303 rifle from the scene. Naxalites killed have not been identified. According to Sukma Superintendent of Police Shalabh Sinha, on the basis of local information, campaigns are being continuously carried out against Naxalites in different areas.
