Chief Election Commission A.K. Joti schedules the calendar of two-phase Gujarat polls.

The period of the 182-member Gujarat Assembly polls gets ended on January 23 next year.

Chief Election Commission A.K. Joti has declared the schedule for the two-phase Gujarat polls. The term of the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be trimming on January 23, 2018.

Two-phase polling will be held: 19 districts and 89 seats in the first phase, polls on December 9.

14 districts and 93 seats in second phase, polls will be on 14 December and Counting of votes on December 18.

 

GIS-based real-time monitoring of election activities to be carried out in Webcasting from critical polling stations.  

A grievance redressal system has been applied by the EC and the common people can put forward grievance through a mobile app.

Top limit of election expenditure is Rs. 28 lakh, Chief Election Commission Joti says.

Forces will be deployed well in advance to poll dates, and will be deployed in economically sensitive areas says CEC Joti

 

All decisive events of the polling will be roofed by CCTVs in border check posts.

 

Model Code of Conduct applicable to Union Government also asserts CEC Joti.On the filing of affidavits, the CEC says all contesting candidates must file an affidavit and if any column in it is left blank, the returning officer will categorizer notice. And if the column has an error, even after the notice then the returning officer may discard the affidavit.

 

There will be a total of 50, 128 polling stations for 182 seats. And the polls will be fully VVPAT-based. All EVMs to be attached with VVPATs.  The height of voter screen rose.

Specially-abled voters have been recognized and the kind of help needed has also been identified and necessary arrangements have been made to help them vote, insists CEC says.

All-woman managed polling stations to be initiated in Gujarat polls, says approximately 102 all-women polling stations will be there.
