Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao promised free education to the people during the 2014 elections and could not live up to his promise. Telangana Congress spokesman Dasoju Shravan on Monday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of failing. He deliberately destroyed the entire education system in the state.

K. Chandrasekhar Rao is not giving necessary grants to government universities. These universities do not recruit vice-chancellors and faculty posts. Without the Vice Chancellor, these universities are all major institutions. "The Congress leader accused the Chief Minister of promoting private universities. "The Chief Minister has closed 4,500 schools in the state," he said. Till today, thousands of school teacher posts are vacant. "He blamed the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government for closing down degrees and junior colleges in the state.

"Since 2014, the literacy rate of Telangana state has not increased. The higher education system in the state is completely broken," said Sarvan.
