Mumbai:  Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde spoke to social activist Anna Hazare over phone after the Lokayukta Bill was passed by the state Legislative Council. Maharashtra Assembly has also passed this bill in its last session. The Maharashtra Legislative Council on Friday passed the Lokayukta Bill 2022, which brings the CM and the Council of Ministers under the ambit of the anti-corruption ombudsman. This bill has been passed by the state assembly during the winter session of last year. When it was first introduced in the Council, some MLAs had expressed their objection, after which the Bill was sent to a joint committee.

Lokayukta Bill passed: After including some recommendations, Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar again tabled it in the Upper House and it was also passed unanimously on Friday. Is. Speaking at the council, Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis said the draft was prepared after several meetings between officials and a team of social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare. The provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act have been included in the bill.
