China is nowadays seen making new claims. The country on Friday asserted that the coronavirus burst out in the various parts of the world last year but it was the only nation to have reported and acted first, exposing the widely-held view that the deadly contagion originated in Wuhan before turning out to be a worldwide epidemic. China, besides rejecting the allegations posed by the US that COVID-19 has developed from a bio-lab in Wuhan, also rejected that it originated from a wet market in the central Chinese city from bats or pangolins before infecting humans.

Hua's comments came in answer to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's accusations of a cover-up by the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC).
