New Delhi: Government of India has banned many mobile apps in China due to security reasons. Due to this, China has become stung. In response to the ban on apps, China has reduced seafood imports from Kerala. China has also issued an explanation in this regard. According to this, coronavirus was found in two containers of shrimp shipped from Kerala to China.
After this, China has reduced the import of shrimp. Experts working in the field of export business said that this step has been taken in response to the ban of Chinese apps by the Indian government. China has cut imports in response to India. China is the second-largest importer of seafood from India. India exports seafood to the United States the most. Therefore, India continues to intervene internationally to resolve this issue.
However, due to the Corona epidemic, the seafood export sector suffered heavy losses during 2019-2020. 1445 seafood export companies operate at 17 centres across the country. Of these, 224 are operating in Kerala. It is estimated that last year, there was a loss of about Rs 2500 crore in seafood exports to Kerala alone due to the movement of ships.
