Peng Liyuan and Xi Jinping were married in 1987. The two are said to have met for the first time in 1986 through a common friend, and Peng took just 40 minutes to decide on a life-long relationship with Jinping.

Jinping first saw Peng in a green army uniform and she did not like Xi at the time, but she had been in Xi's heart since that day. After this, during the political programs, the two got together and finally both got married on 1 September 1987.
