West Indies opener Chris Gayle has said that he is still firm on his statement given after being fired from his former Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise Jamaica Talawaz. Chris Gayle, however, admitted that his statement against Jamaica Talawaz was 'worse than coronavirus'. Talawaz did not retain Chris Gayle for the 2020 season. After this, Chris Gayle described Talavas assistant coach Ramnaresh Sarwan as 'worse than coronavirus' and said that Ramnaresh Sarwan is like a snake. Gayle had accused Sarvan that he had conspired to oust him from the CPL team Jamaica Talawaz.

The CPL website released Chris Gayle's official statement on Friday. According to the statement, Gayle said, "Recently I posted three videos on my YouTube channel, in which I had given feedback regarding the removal of me from the Jamaican Talawaz franchise." He said," I gave my response only for one purpose. I told the Jamaican fans why I split from this franchise for the second time. My biggest wish was to say goodbye to my career while playing for Jamaica. Wanted to play the last match in front of the audience at his home ground Sabina Park. I have won two CPLs for this franchise only." The opener said, as far as my displeasure is concerned, I still stand by my statement. Whatever I said was spoken from the heart.

Chris Gayle, however, admitted that such statements could also damage the brand of Cricket West Indies (CW) image of CPL. Chris Gayle said, it was not my objective to damage this T20 tournament. CPL has given me this opportunity for the last seven years to play cricket in front of my Caribbean fans. This is a great honor for me, I can never take it lightly. Earlier, CWI chief Ricky Skirrit had said that action could be taken against opener Gayle in the case of making indecent remarks against his former CPL franchise Jamaica Talawaz assistant coach Ramnaresh Sarwan. Now the CPL committee has decided that it will not ask for any kind of tribunal's advice in the case against Chris Gayle as he has assured to have good relations with all. The committee also closed the case related to Gayle.
