In an exciting turn of events at the T20 World Cup, South Africa secured a place in the semifinals with a thrilling three-wicket victory over the West Indies. The rain-affected match during the Super Eights stage saw the Proteas successfully chase the revised target of 123 runs in 17 overs.

Batting first, the West Indies posted a total of 135 for 8, thanks largely to Roston Chase's solid 52 off 42 balls. Despite their efforts, South Africa's determined chase saw them reach 124 for 7 in 16.1 overs, knocking the hosts out of the tournament.

With this victory, South Africa advances to the semifinals, joining defending champions England and showcasing their competitive spirit in this year's World Cup.

With this win, South Africa moves to the top of the Group 2 points table in the Super 8s, maintaining their unbeaten record in the tournament.

Choosing to bowl first after winning the toss, they started strong as Marco Jansen dismissed West Indies opener Shai Hope for a golden duck. In the second over, captain Aiden Markram took the wicket of key batsman Nicholas Pooran on the very first ball.
