All the festivals of all the religions are seen celebrated in a low key this year due to the unprecedented pandemic. Indore Churches have decided not to conduct the traditional Eucharistic at 10 pm which continues till 1 pm. Following the guidelines, Little Flower Church Pushpanagar, Indore will have also no midnight prayers. Christmas celebrations will also be in a low key this year due to the pandemic.

“On 24th December we will have holy mass at 6:00 and on 25th we will have two holy masses i.e. at 7 am and 8:30 am. Only those who follow protocols according to government decisions are supposed to attend the services. Cribs, a symbol of Christmas will be inside and outside the church with the minimum of decorations.”  Pushpanagar Parish Priest Fr. Philip O.A said.

According to the instruction from the diocese, the churches will not remain open on December 25 for crib visitors, it will be open from the next day onwards and provisions will be made to ensure that the physical distancing norms are followed”   Fr Abraham said.

“Christmas is a time of joy and celebrations. Everything has to be in a limited way, keeping in mind the various situations arisen due to pandemics. The messages of Christmas are peace, love and kindness. Live in peace with one another, love everyone as your real brother and sister, help those who are in dire need. These are to be practiced not only on Christmas day, but also every day. They are to be followed and practiced all through the year and throughout life and only that will make one a follower of Jesus”, Fr. Philip added.
