One of the most awaited movies of the year Chup: The Revenge of the aritist hit the screen today. The movie stars Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan in lead roles. The movie is based on a serial killer who kills film critics.

Story of movie

Sunny Deol who is playing the cop in the movie in Chup is desperately trying to solve a series of gruesome murders of film critics. While he conducts his investigation, in the same city a young journalist called Nila (Shreya) dreams of becoming a critic. Nila meets a florist (Dulquer Salmaan), and they are immediately drawn to each other. The story is all about Sunny Deol struggling to find out who actually a real serial killer. The suspense lasts for a while after the murderer’s identity is revealed much earlier than you might expect, because the question of why and how next remain.

Review

The movie storyline is unique, It has thrill, action and romance all at the same time. Cinematography that is designed to hark back to the great V.K. Murthy’s play with light and shadow in Guru Dutt’s works, and memorable old Hindi film songs including Jaane kya tune kahi. Chup is not constructed a movie about police procedural, and its impact is heavily dependent on the appeal of Nila’s gradually developing bond with her handsome boyfriend whose eccentricities are made known to the viewer early on but not to her. The movie is basically a good to watch movie with a good story line, good performances and good plot.  The one thing which does not go well with the movie is the thought of Killing a critic for criticizing a movie some how the dialogue like criticizing a movie like raping a child suggest justifies the killing. It is not presented effectively the idea that killing a critic is wrong. It only deals with a police procedure to identify the killer.

 The movie stars Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Pooja Bhat are leading this film, whose original story has been penned by R Balki. While Sunny Deol faces the chills, Dulquer and Shreya lighten up the narrative with their fresh chemistry.
