Council for the Indian Certificate School Examination (CISCE) may reopen its schools from January 4, 2021. The CISCE has requested all the state, union territories to consider reopening of schools particularly for the students of Class X and XII. Nevertheless, the respective states have yet to make a final decision on this.

All the schools have been shut from March 2020 due to the spread out of COVID-19. All the academic activities have been done online/offline till date. CISCE now asked the Chief Minister of States and Union Territories to allow the reopening of schools for the final preparations of the examinations. After the reopening of schools, the time will be utilized for practical works, project works, doubt clearing sessions, etc. In addition, CISCE has also requested the Chief Election Commission of India to share the upcoming election dates. This will be helpful in deciding the exam dates for the 10th and 12th board exams.
