The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is a central armed police force in India. It was established on 10 March 1969 under an Act of the Parliament of India with a strength of 2,800. The CISF was later made the Armed Force of India by another Act of Parliament passed on 15 June 1983. Its current activity is 148,371 employees. In April 2017, the government increased the sanctioned strength from 145,000 to 180,000 personnel. Its duties include providing security for sensitive government buildings, the Delhi Metro, and the airport.

The CISF is operated by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, headquartered in New Delhi. CISF provides safety cover to 300 industrial units, government infrastructure projects, and facilities and installations located all over India. Ownership and control of industrial areas such as nuclear power plants, space installations, mines, oil fields and refineries, major ports, heavy engineering, steel plants, barrages, fertilizer units, airports and hydroelectric/thermal power plants, Central Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and the currency note presses that produce Indian currency are protected by the CISF. Thus it establishes a wide range of terrain and climatic conditions across India. CISF also provides consultancy services to private industries as well as other organizations within the Government of India. The scope of CISF's consulting practice includes safety consulting and fire safety consulting.

The CISF is a unique organization in India's paramilitary forces, which works for sea routes, airways, and some of India's major installations. The CISF has some reserve battalions that work with the state police for the protection of law and order. The CISF plays a major role in disaster management. The CISF has a 'Fire Wing' which helps during fire accidents in industries where the CISF is on guard.
