The first electric automobile for India will be revealed this week, according to the French automaker Citroen. The impending electric vehicle's debut has been officially confirmed by Citroen India on September 29. The news was made today via the French automaker's social media channels. An electric car, that's good, it said on the sign. But for us, it falls well short of our needs. On September 29th, see you. Citroen had previously declared that it would release its first electric vehicle for India sometime in 2023.

Citroen said that the new electric car would be small, inexpensive, and based on the Common Modular Platform, which is also utilised by the Tata Punch competitor, during the unveiling of the C3 small SUV earlier this year. It will be the first of a number of EVs Citroen intends to introduce in India over the next few years. The Stellantis group's CEO, Carlos Tavares, had said, “We are going to bring not only compact EVs that fall under the Indian market segment of less than 4m, but we will also bring EVs to people movers with the next products we launch."

The future of French electric vehicles is largely unknown. The EV, which resembles the ICE version introduced in July of this year, has been seen testing on Indian roads. The French auto giant will launch a brand-new electric vehicle for international markets as well in an effort to dominate the tiny EV industry. It will compete with vehicles like the upcoming Tata Tiago EV as one of the least expensive EVs in India.

Currently, Citroen sells up to four electric vehicles worldwide. Citroen now offers two more MPVs in addition to the two-seat Ami and the electric C4 SUV. The new C3 electric is anticipated to receive a 50kWh battery pack with a 350 km driving range on a single charge. It has a maximum power output of 136 bhp and a maximum torque output of 260 Nm.
