New Delhi: Supreme Court Chief Jasjis Ranjan Gogoi is retiring on 17 November today. On Sunday morning, he reached the temple of Lord Venkateswara with his wife Rupnajali Gogoi. The Chief Justice arrived here on Saturday. On Saturday, he visited Sri Padmavati Devi temple in Tiruchanur, after which he saw Lord Varsha Swami and after that he saw Lord Venkateswara.
Earlier on Friday, on his last working day, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi spent four minutes in court number one of the apex court. CJI succeeded his successor Justice S.K. a. Presided over the bench with Bobde. Meanwhile, Chairman of Supreme Court Bar Association, Sanjeev Khanna thanked the CJI on behalf of Lawyers Association. The Chief Justice took office in October 2018.
The agenda for the last day of his office included address through video conferencing with High Court judges and about 15,000 judicial officers in different parts of the country. On Friday itself, the CJI's office issued a statement on the personal interview requests of various media houses, in which they regretted not giving the interview and gave reasons for it.
