New Delhi: The Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana has once again expressed concern about the image of the judges of India. He has said that the government is maligning the image of the judges. He called it unfortunate. In fact, hearing was being held in the Supreme Court against former Principal Secretary of Chhattisgarh Aman Singh and his wife Yasmin Singh for getting assets disproportionate to their declared sources of income.

During this, the Chief Justice also commented on the tendencies of the governments. He said that these days the governments keep maligning the image of the judges. This is an unfortunate situation. This case has been filed in the Supreme Court by proper Sharma, in which action was taken by registering an FIR against the whistleblower who gave information about the benami and other assets of the former principal secretary of the state and his wife. The state government has also filed a separate appeal in this matter.

After his remarks on the governments, the CJI adjourned the hearing till April 18. Taking a dig at the governments and their officials, the CJI said that earlier only private institutions or parties used to try to tarnish the image of the judges in the court. But now the governments have started doing this. This situation is more unfortunate.
