The Haryana Government and Urban Local Bodies Minister Anil Vij have different voices regarding the direct election of the chairperson in the civic elections in the state of Haryana, India. Where the Chief Minister has given a unanimous decision in this matter. Vij has again given a big statement regarding this whole matter. Chief Minister Manohar Lal has given a statement in Kaithal about this, decisions are taken unanimously in the party.

After which Vij's statement has come that it is right that this decision was taken collectively, but if any decision is taken wrong then it is part of democracy to reconsider it. So, it seems to me that it is not right to conduct direct elections. That's why I have written on the file. I still want this matter should be considered once again."

Anil Vij had written on the file related to holding the election of Chairman directly that he is not entitled to conduct the election directly. However, it has been a year since the direct election in the state made Mayor in five districts. Now the latest situation, in this case, is that after the bill was passed in the assembly, this file went to Anil Vij for implementation. Kavita Jain was the minister of this department in the previous government. While in the present government, Anil Vij is the minister of the department. Vij made a comment on the file that it is not according to the constitution. Therefore elections should be held on the old method. He also wrote on the file that if this system is to be made, it should be made at the top level.
