Muzaffarnagar: Monday, clash between two groups occurred in which at least five persons were wounded in over power supply in Shafipur village, following which 29 people have been arrested, police said.
As per report report, “the incident took place yesterday evening when a Dalit group tried to get power supply from a particular transformer which was opposed by another group, and a clash followed in which both sides used sharp weapons and stones against each other”.
A case of rioting and attempting to murder was registered against 37 people, and 29 people have been arrested so far, he added.
The officer added “Security, with deployment of extra personnel, has been tightened in the area and the situation is under control”. Meanwhile, a local court today sent the 29 arrested people to judicial custody till June 4.
