Chandigarh: Punjab CM Amarinder Singh said on Tuesday that he has not given a clean chit to the family of former CM of the state Parkash Singh Badal for his alleged involvement in the extortion case of Guru Granth Sahib. Amarinder said in a statement that, "I never said that Prakash Singh Badal or his son Sukhbir were not involved in disharmony. I have simply said that Badal did not go and tear the holy Guru Granth Sahib himself, but in this case does not deny their involvement. "

Amarinder said that "Badal was as responsible as the people who were actually involved in the disgrace, after which the state and its people had to face serious incidents." Amarinder further said that the Badal family not only failed to stop cases of rampant coercion under his supervision, but the culprits were also released without any punishment. CM Amarinder said that due to being in power at that time, the Badal family was fully responsible for it.

CM Amarinder Singh further said that the Badal family cannot stand up to the matter. Chief Minister Amarinder said in question that, "As Chief Minister, am I not responsible for the law and order situation in the state today? Will people and media not blame me if crimes rise?"
