Sukma: In 2011, there was a Naxalite encounter in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, on which a judicial inquiry was set up. On Wednesday, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel presented the report of this judicial commission in the state assembly, in which a clean chit has been given to the police. The judicial report stated that between March 11 and March 16, 2011, there was no evidence as to who set fire to houses in three villages in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites. Along with this, the alleged attack on the vehicle of social worker Swami Agnivesh, who was on a tour of the state after this incident, was sponsored, no evidence was found on this too. Let us tell you that in 2011, between 11 and 16 March, there was an encounter between Naxalites and security forces in Morpalli, Timmapuram and Tadmetla villages of Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, in which 246 houses were burnt.

Thereafter, Swami Agnivesh tried to go to Dantewada twice, but on 26 March 2011, his vehicle was attacked in Dornapal area, allegedly by a cannon. The then Bharatiya Janata Party government had constituted a special judicial commission under the chairmanship of Justice TP Sharma of the High Court to investigate these incidents. According to the same 511-page report of the Special Judicial Commission, on March 11, 2011, an encounter took place between Naxalites and a police team, the CRPF and its CoBRA unit at Morpally.

The case pertains to the time when the security forces were accompanied by a delegation of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), which was to investigate complaints of human rights violations. On the same day 31 houses in the village caught fire. On 13th and 14th March, 2011 another encounter took place in Timmapuram, in which 3 policemen were killed and 8 policemen were injured. It has been told in the report that when shots were fired from the houses and in retaliation the police threw grenades, four or five houses were burnt. The report said that apart from this, another 55 houses also caught fire, but it was not known who was responsible behind the fire. On 16 March 2011, another encounter took place in Tadmetla and on that day also 160 houses in the village caught fire. Along with this, it has been told in the report, 'In Timmapuram village, 4-5 houses in the corner from where the firing was being done, there was a fire due to the reaction of the police. The police responded in self-defense which was not a wrongful action, but it was the authority of the security forces. It has been told in the report that there is no evidence of who burnt 31 houses in Morpally, 55 houses in Timmapuram and 160 houses in Tadmetla. Since there is no evidence, no one can be held responsible for the burning of the house.
