Madhya Pradesh: State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said 10,000 cases of corona infection are being reported on a daily basis.

CM has further said the highest number of cases in a day reported in September last year was 2,600. He made the above statement at a video-conferencing with corona volunteers and the members of the Jan Abhiyan Parishad in Mantralaya on Wednesday. Medical education minister, Vishwash Sarang, vice-president of the Jan Abhiyan Parishad Vibhas Upadhyay and others were present at the videoconferencing

Chouhan said the government had commenced to work on war footing and 1,600 beds were made available in five days. Corona Care Centres had been set up in every district, he said, adding that the names of 92,000 people were registered as volunteers who were ready to battle against the pandemic.

CM said the volunteers would work in four areas:  first, they would help corona patients to undergo tests and to hospitalise them. Second, they would encourage people above 45 years to get vaccinated and send them to vaccination centres. Third, they would educate people about how to follow corona protocols. And fourth, they would appeal to people to impose curfew in an area on their own. He also urged corona volunteers to take care of themselves while they were serving patients.
