Dehradun: The state government will provide free home access to the people of Uttarakhand returning from Ukraine. The Home Department has issued instructions in this regard. The local commissioner's office in New Delhi has been asked to make arrangements in this regard. A letter in this regard has been sent to the local commissioner on behalf of Additional Secretary Home Attar Singh.
At the same time, the letter said that the people of Uttarakhand, who returned home from Ukraine, will be transported to their destination free of cost. Trains, buses or taxis through whichever means they express their desire to go to the destination will be made available to them. This free arrangement will be made by the local commissioner's office. The entire cost will be borne by the State Government.
According to the same Principal Secretary Home RK Sudhanshu, three WhatsApp groups have been formed to gather information about people stranded in Ukraine. These groups include the chief secretary, all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretary-level officers, besides Garhwal and Kumaon divisional commissioners, all collectors, police captains along with the families of the citizens who returned from Ukraine or were stranded there. The information through these WhatsApp groups will be made available to the Ministry of External Affairs.
