CM directs officials to stop smuggling of liquor and marijuana

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy held a review meeting of the Special Enforcement Bureau on Thursday. During the meeting held at the CM Camp office in Tadepalli, the officials apprised CM YS Jagan about the progress of the activities of the Enforcement Bureau.

On this occasion, CM Jagan said that the rates have been increased under the liquor control. He said that a third of the shops were closed, belt shops and permit rooms were removed, thus reducing the sale of liquor from 34 lakh cases per month to 21 lakh. Beer sales fell from 17 lakh cases per month to 7 lakh. In such a situation, the CM instructed the officials to stop the smuggling of liquor. YS Jagan further said that measures should be taken to stop the production and smuggling of marijuana and asked the officials to campaign against the use of the drug.

The officials informed the Chief Minister about the cases registered by the Special Enforcement Bureau.
