Guntur: Former minister Ayyana Patrudu criticized Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for putting additional financial burden on common and middle class people through garbage collection tax. Former minister Ayyana Patrudu unveiled his statue at his native village Kandlakunta village under Nakirikallu mandal of Guntur district on Thursday on the occasion of second death anniversary of late Speaker of the Assembly Dr. Kodela Siva Prasad Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Chief Minister failed to fulfill his election promises. The Chief Minister criticized the imposition of additional financial burden on the common and middle class people through garbage collection tax. Instead of providing better facilities to the people, the government is putting additional financial burden on the people. He criticized the state government for doing business of liquor and meat apart from selling cinema tickets. Criticizing Minister Kodali Nani, he said that the person who did not know about Sana Biam became the Minister of Civil Supplies.
He recalled how Kodela Siva Prasad Rao developed Sattenapalli assembly constituency. Nannapaneni Rajkumari, former chair of the AP Women's Commission, said she was lucky as she worked with Dr Kodela Siva Prasad Rao and remembered how the latter had evolved. TDP district president GV Anjaneulu said the state government was harassing Kodela's son Dr Kodela Shiva Ram and said that because of his efforts, the Kotappakonda festival has got the status of a state festival. Former ministers Devineni Uma Maheshwara Rao, Alapathi Rajendra Prasad, Nakka Anand Babu, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy were also present.
