Patna: The ongoing political tug of war between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the JD(U) over the issue of objectionable treatment meted out to the Bihar Assembly Speaker has come to an end. On Wednesday, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar himself came forward and got the controversy to end. On Tuesday, Nitish held a crucial meeting to end the impasse. Apart from Nitish, assembly speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, Bihar's two deputy CMs and education minister Vijay Chaudhary, health minister Mangal Pandey and energy minister Vijendra Yadav were also present.
In Tuesday's meeting, chief minister Nitish Kumar and speaker Vijay Sinha met. The discussion took place for about 20 minutes at the annexe building of the assembly. According to sources, after the intervention from Delhi, the Speaker agreed. Earlier, due to the tussle between CM Nitish Kumar and Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha, there was a time on Tuesday when the CM and the Speaker sat in their respective chambers in the Assembly. But neither of them made their presence felt inside the House even once. In place of Vijay Kumar Sinha, BJP MLA Prem Kumar played the role of speaker and ran the House.
On the other hand, in the first shift, Nitish Kumar was not present in the assembly. In the second shift, after 2 pm, the CM reached the Assembly and went straight to his chamber, but not once did he go inside the House. Due to this, the BJP MLAs continued to create a ruckus with CM Nitish Kumar over the entire episode demanding an apology from the Speaker over the entire matter. Responding on behalf of the government, Parliamentary Affairs Minister and Nitish Kumar's close aide Vijay Kumar Chaudhary made it clear that there is no contradiction between the CM and the Speaker.
