Chief Secretary of Bihar Govt Arun Singh dies from corona, CM Nitish mourns

Patna: Cases of corona infection are on the rise in Bihar. The virus is taking over everything from common to special. Meanwhile, Bihar Government Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Singh has passed away. He was infected with corona and was undergoing treatment at the hospital. CM Nitish Kumar has condoled his death.

Earlier, Additional Secretary in the Health Department Ravi Shankar Chaudhary had also passed away from the corona. Arun Kumar Singh, a 1985 batch IAS officer, was holding the charge of Development Commissioner of Bihar before the Chief Secretary. He was appointed chief secretary this year. According to reports, his corona test report was positive on April 15. He was then admitted to a private hospital in Patna for treatment. It was here on Friday that he breathed his last.

When the news of chief secretary Arun's demise was received during the Bihar cabinet meeting, all cabinet colleagues including CM Nitish Kumar expressed grief. Several officials of Bihar have lost their lives due to corona. Additional Secretary, Health Department Ravi Shankar Chaudhary passed away about a week ago.
