Nagaland: CM TR Zeliang resigns, Neiphiu Rio to take hold over the post

Nagaland CM, T R Zeliang resigned because of the widespread protest in his state that was caused by the government to reserve 33 percent seats for women.

There had been marches running several in the state from the past month where people were demanding to that UNION LOCAL BODIES should have 33 percent of the seats reserved for the women.

Neiphiu Rio, who was earlier CM and sole MP from the state is the first and most promising candidate to take hold over the post.
