New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday to discuss various issues and seek his advice on how to improve the coastal state. Sawant was in Delhi for the second time after taking the oath as Goa Chief Minister for the second government.

"Today, I paid a visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji in New Delhi. The PM was consulted on a number of matters, and Goa's development was discussed "Sawant sent out a tweet.

Earlier, Sawant met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on April 20, just days after the Goa government was formed. PM Modi was in Gujarat from April 18 to 20, therefore the Chief Minister was unable to meet him during his last visit.

Following the Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in the Goa Assembly elections earlier this year, Pramod Sawant was sworn in as the state's chief minister for the second time. The BJP kept power in four of the five states where elections were held: Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, and Punjab.

The BJP won 20 seats in the 40-member state Assembly in the recently concluded state Assembly elections, while the Congress came in second with 11 seats.
