Bhopal: Today is the prakashotsav of Amar Das ji, the third guru and revered Guru of sikhs. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has bowed at his feet. In fact, through a tweet, he has bowed to the third Guru of sikhs and revered Guru Amar Das ji on his prakashotsav. In a tweet, State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan wrote, "Kotish: Naman at the feet of the third Guru of Sikhs, revered Guru Amar Das ji, who dedicated his life for social harmony and the welfare of the world! Following the path of service and progress of humanity, we will always work for the good of the world".

It is said that Guru Amar Das ji has visited Vaisakh Shukla Ekadashi Samvat 1536 vs. That is, 23rd May, 1479 AD. He was born to his father Shri Tejbhan and mother Lakhmi ji in 'Basar Ke' village of Amritsar. He was busy farming and doing business throughout the day but still used to do Hari Naam Simran.
