Kochi: Swapna Suresh, the main accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case, on Tuesday (June 7, 2022) made several serious allegations against the state CM Pinarayi Vijayan. Speaking to the press after appearing in a Kochi court, Suresh said that Vijayan was involved in the gold smuggling scam under the guise of diplomatic baggage. They claimed that when Vijayan was in Dubai in 2016, he was sent a bag full of notes.

Swapna Suresh has said that, 'In this case, I have told the court to the Chief Minister of Kerala, his former principal secretary M. Sivashankar, Vijayan's wife Kamala, daughter Veena, his additional private secretary C.M. Raveendran, former bureaucrat Nalini Netto and former minister K.T. Jaleel's involvement has also been made aware of. Along with this, I have also filed a petition in the court seeking my protection. Earlier, Suresh had said on Monday (6 June 2022) that, 'My life is in danger. So I have decided to give a statement to the court. I will disclose all the facts (regarding gold smuggling) and the names of those involved in it.

Let us inform that after 16 months of arrest, Swapna Suresh was released from jail in November last year. Suresh was taken into custody by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from Bengaluru along with another accused Sandeep Nair on July 11, 2020.
