Lucknow: The intense heat wave in North India, especially in Uttar Pradesh, has led Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to issue several guidelines to ensure public safety and well-being. As temperatures soar and break records, the CM emphasized the need for robust rescue and relief measures in both rural and urban areas.

To address the power issues exacerbated by the heat, CM Yogi instructed that there should be no unnecessary power cuts across the state. He directed that any problems such as faulty transformers, power tripping, and other electrical faults be resolved promptly. Additionally, he stressed the importance of procuring additional electricity if necessary to meet the increased demand.

An awareness campaign will be launched to educate the public about the symptoms and prevention of heat-related illnesses. To combat dehydration and water shortages, the CM ordered that drinking water be made available at various public locations, particularly on roads and in municipal and rural areas. Tankers will supply water to areas experiencing shortages.

Special cleanliness measures are to be implemented at religious sites in Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura. The Chief Minister also directed the daily issuance of a weather bulletin from the Relief Commissioner's Office and the development of a heat-wave action plan for zoological parks. Livestock care is a priority, with proper arrangements for fodder and water in cowsheds and immediate medical attention for any illnesses.

Public awareness initiatives will include tips on staying cool and hydrated and ensuring water and food for birds. The government aims to make immediate medical treatment available for those affected by the heat wave in hospitals and medical colleges, and ensure there are shaded areas and water points in public spaces to offer relief from the scorching heat.
